The intelligence quotient (IQ) is the total score one gets after a set of standardized tests that are designed to assess human intelligence. These tests have been around for 100 years. The first IQ test was designed in 1905 by a French psychologist to identify children that required individualized help outside the classroom. Since then there have been more IQ tests developed to test human intelligence.

However, the big question is whether IQ tests are valid and can accurately measure intelligence? The tests have a harrowed past where they discriminated against people racially and ethnically. However, most experts agree that these tests can measure human intelligence.

Do IQ tests have a meaning for human intelligence?

The tests have a meaning and can validly test human intelligence. However, this is possible when they are done and interpreted correctly. IQ tests fall under the field of psychology where there are no firm regulatory bodies like the FDA in medicine. The tests are accurate and reliable when all required skills are tested. Some of the common tests to include are fluid reasoning, working memory, verbal comprehension among others.

Most mistakes occur when IQ scores are interpreted from a few tests as opposed to the overall IQ used. There are standard sets used to test IQ that should be followed. However, these tests work differently within a specific set of people. The set of skills tested are skills that are important to society. 

Overall, IQ tests work but can be sensitive to various things like motivation and coaching. The results from these
